We performed a lot of tests on machines other than the Original i3

Most machines can install our motor with current specification. Some machines require modification like modding the printed parts, changing or rewiring the connectors, tuning the driver configuration or the current. Many printers we tested have a good result on MRR(VFA) reduction.

 Steppers Vibration Benchmark

We know that motors with different models from different manufacturers are different in vibration strength. However, we found that even motors of the same model from the same batch from the same manufacturer, the vibration strength is still significantly different among individual motors.

We purchased some motors and performed tests. Here is the individual vibration difference range for motors of different models from different manufacturers. We also put our test data from the production process. The result is shown below.

We set up our standard based on the stock motors on the Original i3. Based on our experience, 75% or more vibration reduction result in a significant MRR reduction.

Interestingly, we found that NEMA14(35mm) motors generally have more vibrations than NEMA17(42mm) motors. This information might be useful for designing 3D printers. :D
